As I’m sure you’re all aware, mental health is an issue of large importance. Not only is it huge within the student community, but it’s the issue most commonly found across all communities and identities. Everyone struggles in life, it’s completely normal. If you’re in need of a safe, calm space to talk, you should know that there are people who are there for you, in places free to all.
SelfHelp is a user-led mental health charity based in the North of England. When things feel out of your control, they can provide the support, advice, tools and techniques you need to regain it.
They currently host ten drop-ins which you can check out above, including an Anxiety self-help group in Altrincham. This group meets every Monday 2pm-4pm at Altrincham Methodist Church on Barrington Road, WA14 1HF.
Also note that none of the groups require appointments so you’re free to come and go as you please.
